FILE: XXth National Architecture Exhibition and Awards
Organized biennially since 1988 by the Chamber of Architects of Turkey, the National Architecture Exhibition and Awards honored its winners in 2026 during its 20th edition. Over the past 19 editions, 2.702 architectural works have been submitted to the program; 169 works, along with 64 individuals and organizations, have been awarded prizes in various categories for their outstanding qualities. In this year’s 20th edition of the exhibition and awards program, the Selection Committee evaluated 57 works, represented by 77 panels, in the “Building,” “Project,” and “Idea Presentation” categories.
Following the Selection Committee’s meeting in Ankara, the “Mimar Sinan Grand Prize,” the “Commemorative Program,” and the “Awards for Contribution to Architecture”, as well as the works nominated for awards in the “Building”, “Project”, and “Idea Presentation” categories, were determined and announced to the public on March 17, 2026. In this context, a total of 18 works were selected as nominees: 10 in the Building Category, 6 in the Project Category, and 2 in the Idea Presentation Category. A total of 8 awards - 4 in the Architecture Category, 2 in the Project Category, and 2 in the Idea Presentation Category - were selected from among the nominees and announced at a ceremony held on April 10, 2026, at the Zübeyde Hanım Social Facility in Ankara, where they were presented to their recipients. An exhibition featuring all entries submitted to the program was open to visitors from April 10 to 17, 2026, at the Zübeyde Hanım Social Facility in Ankara.
